We all Love someone or something in life!

Who or what do you Love?
How and or why would anyone want to write about something so hard to understand, Love and its many faces is no easy matter to think about, yet here I am trying to write about it.

Have you ever wondered when love first became something we actually put into a word? I have and it still baffles me. Who first said the word LOVE? When in our past did it become a word? What context was it first used in? Why is it such a big part of our daily lives? What does the word truly mean? What did it mean the first time someone said it? How is it different today from then? When does it first show up as a word in the past? Why does it have so many different meanings today? Has it always had so many meanings?

My list of questions just seem to go on and on. Most without any answers.

Is it any wonder that this one word causes so many of life's problems? I mean we will fight for it, some are even willing to die for it, at least they are willing to die emotionally for it. We talk about it constantly, as though it is the only thing in life that matters. We wake up thinking about it, and go to bed with it on our minds as well. We argue about it, and what it is. We call it a feeling, an emotion, a state of mind, a relationship, marriage, and many of things.

We have love of life, love of a person, love of God, love of money, love of things, love of places, and again the list goes on. I find no peace in trying to figure it out or explain it to anyone else. I no longer want anyone to ask me that dreaded question, "What do you think Love is"? For me it is impossible to explain love to another person, I have come to believe that there are just to many different meanings of the word, and everyone seems to have their own special meaning that applies to their own life.

Yet, the debate goes on everyday. Somewhere, someone is asking this question of a friend or relative hoping to gain some small insight of understanding it, as they begin their own personal journey of deciding what it is to them. This is one of the most complex issues in our lives, yet none of us have easy to understand answers when we are ask the question, and we all seem to go into very deep thought about it when ever we hear the question. I think this by far the one question that seems to make everyone hesitate, possibly for fear of not being understood when we give an answer, or here too, the reasons may be many.

Well, I could go on for a lot longer, but I will stop here and give my own personal meaning of what it means to me. Love to me is my desire to share everything I have in life with those that I share my life with. It includes, my thoughts, feelings, beliefs, ups, downs, emotions, material possessions, and day to day activities. This is not to say that I will share all of these with each person in my life, that depends on the relationship I have with that person, but I do share what is right for each of the relationships I have.

Now for a small example of how the word is used.

"I would Love to hear your thoughts on what Love is". Are you willing to share them? That is the question I leave for each of you who reads this article, and I hope that some of you will comment on what you think love is.

Who will be brave enough to leave comments on this.
